Bahati Early Life

He became an orphan at a very young age.

He decided to go to the ABC Children’s Home located in Mathare where he grew up.

He was fostered by an Iceland lady called Thorun who he had met in Mathare Slums.

She took him back to school and even sacrificed to stay in Kenya to take care of him.

Bahati Education

He went to Nakeel Boys High School located in Rongai Kenya.

He then went to St. Teresa Boys High School located in Eastleigh Nairobi.

Bahati and Diana Marua

He happened to be looking for a video vixen to act as a bride in his song ‘ Mapenzi ‘ after ‘Tracy Wanjiru‘ who was supposed to be the video vixen, couldn’t make it.

He was given Diana’s number, who was a model and was dating at that time.

He immediately recognised her from Instagram after saving her number and looking at her pictures.

Apparently, she had liked 6 pictures of him on Instagram and he liked 2 of her pictures in return.

She got the video vixen job and then underwent gown fittings ahead of the video shoot.

On the morning of the shoot day, Diana found her boyfriend at that time cheating on her.

He was in his car engaging in sexual activities with another woman.

She broke down and then broke up with him, she later went ahead to the Mapenzi video shoot.

After a couple of meetups and dates with Bahati, she decided to date him.

They recently celebrated their 6th anniversary together on October 2021

He was adopted from ABC Children’s Home in Mathare by Bahati who was 20 years old at that time.

Bahati Marriage

They had planned to have their wedding in 2022 before the August general elections, they wanted all their children to witness it.

They had also planned to hold the wedding at the KICC ( Kenya International Convention Centre ) in Nairobi Kenya.

But due to Bahati’s political bid, they had to postpone it.

Bahati Music Journey

His first breakthrough came on 19th January 2013, after the released his second song ‘Wangu’ then followed by other hit songs such as Mama, Mapenzi, Barua, Story Yangu (Ft. Denno) among others.

  • Debut Album: Barua Za Bahati

He later released his First Album in August 2014 titled ‘Barua Za Bahati‘.

It was a soulful compilation of his previously released singles, as well as new singles.

He recently ventured into Contemporary music releasing chart-topping hit songs.

He has collaborated with various artists such as; Prezzo, Mejja, Tanasha Donna, Akothee, Diana Marua alias Diana B and the 2022 Azimio Presidential Candidate: Raila Amollo Odinga among others.

  • Second Album: Love Like This

He released his Second Album on 14th June 2021 titled ‘Love Like This‘.

The 10-track album featured artists such as Rayvanny (Tanzania), Nadia Mukami (Kenya), Lydiah Jazmine (Uganda), Sat-B (Burundi), and Jovial (Kenya).

He released the album in celebration of his seven years in the music industry.

It was the first Kenyan album to get over 100K streams on Boomplay within 4 hours of its release

Bahati Reality

It was the first Musician Reality TV show in East & Central Africa airing on National Television.

It’s currently on a break but it used to air every Saturday on NTV at 7:30 PM.

It would usually accumulate a total of 1.2 Million Views weekly.

Bahati Political Career

He ran for Member of Parliament of Mathare Constituency in the 2022 August General Elections on the Jubilee Party Ticket.

He lost the seat to ODM’s Antony Oluoch who got 28,098 total votes.

In 2019, during an episode of Upclose By Betty on K24 TV, he revealed that his performance rate card stands at Ksh. 700,000 for 15-25 Minutes.
