Diana Marua Family

Diana Marua was raised by a single father.

Her father is well-known for cancer advocacy in Kenya.

Diana’s mother was called Lilian Nyambura Gikurumi, who divorced Diana’s father.

The only memory Diana remembers about her is during her school visits.

She describes that she was raised in an environment of fear.

Her mother later passed on on 13^th March 2009.

Her father is a Luo, and her mother was a Kikuyu.

Diana has two young sisters.

Diana Marua Education

Diana Marua went to New Light Junior Academy, located in Kayole, Nairobi, where she pursued her primary education.

She faced lots of challenges in that school, e.g. lack of school fees, and criticism from teachers.

Diana later went to Mitaboni ABC Girls School located in Machakos County, where she pursued her secondary education.

Regarding our University education,

Diana first went to KCA University (2008 – 2011), located in Nairobi, Kenya, where she pursued a Diploma in Information Technology (IT).

She then went to St. Paul’s University (2015 – 2017), located in Nairobi, Kenya where she did a Diploma in professional marketing and communication in public health, advertising and communication.

Diana Marua & Bahati

Bahati happened to be looking for a video vixen to act as a bride in his song ‘Mapenzi’, after Tracy Wanjiru, who was supposed to be the video vixen, couldn’t make it.

Bahati was given Diana‘s number, who was a model and was dating at the time.

He immediately recognized her from Instagram after saving the number and looking at her pictures.

Diana had already liked six pictures of him on Instagram, and Bahati liked 2 of her pictures in return.

Diana got the job and then underwent a gown fitting ahead of the video shoot.

On the morning of the shoot day, Diana found her boyfriend at the time cheating on her.

She found him in his car, engaging in sexual activities with another woman.

Diana broke down and then broke up with him. She later went to the ‘Mapenzi‘ video shoot.

After a couple of meet-ups and dates with Bahati, she decided to date him.

Diana experienced a complication, called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), during both her first two pregnancies.

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) is a group of symptoms that cause discomfort in the pelvic region. It usually occurs during pregnancy when your pelvic joints become stiff or move unevenly.

Diiana also went through postpartum depression.

It was postponed due to Bahati’s election run as Member of Parliament of Mathare Constituency on a Jubilee Party ticket.

Bahati lost the seat to ODM’s Antony Oluoch, who got 28,098 total votes.
