Tetu Shani then attended various universities, including Trinity Western University in Canada and Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California, United States.
In 2014, he got accepted to Berklee College of Music with a scholarship to study performance.
He, however, rejected it as he wanted to help build the local music scene in Kenya.
