Pierra Makena attended Bishop Imathiu Primary School, located in Meru, Kenya.

Pierra Makena was an active member of the drama club while still in high school.

She performed at the National level and also at the State House of Kenya, where KBC TV recognized her. 

She was later promised a slot in acting upon completing her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) exams.

At the age of 17, Pierra Makena began her acting career on KBC TV, appearing in shows such as Kisulisuli and Tausi.
