Ssaru went to Marasi Primary School located in Maungu, Taita Taveta – Kenya.

She then transferred to Patanisho Secondary School in Kayole, Nairobi – Kenya.
Ssaru experienced a lot of challenges in school, eg lack of school fees and also lack of sanitary pads, resulting to her absensure in school at times.
She finished her high school education in 2018.
She didn’t want to join the campus because she wanted to join the music industry.
Ssaru Music Journey
Ssaru started singing in Class 6 during PPI classes.
She was an active member of the music club in school, thus performing in music festivals.
Ssaru started doing short freestyle videos, and posting them on her whatsapp status. which was around October – November of 2019.
She was inspired by producer Motif Di Don.
The videos would later be shared on other social media platforms by her fans, thus going viral.
Ssaru started doing music professionally around December 2019.
She writes her music based on events happening around her life, and what her and her fans would like to hear.
Ssaru has been referred to as the Queen of Gengetone.
She refers to herself as a diverse and versatile artist rather than just a Gengetone artist.
She looks up to many artists in the music industry e.g Khaligraph Jones ( Who’s her role model), Nyashinski, Juacali, Femi One, Fena Gitu and Nadia Mukami among others.

In 2024, Ssaru became Apple’s Up Next programme ambassador.
