Kennedy Tarriq Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka, is a multitalented Kenyan Artist. He is a Rapper, Musician, Poet, Actor, Songwriter, Video Director, Producer and Entrepreneur. King Kaka is also the Founder and C.E.O. of Kaka Empire, a Music & Record Label Company. He was born on 7^th May 1987.

King Kaka Biography

King Kaka Family

King Kaka’s father, Julius Ombima, passed away on November 21^st, 2000, at 1:30 PM.

His mother, Elizabeth, used to sell fruits on the streets using a basin or a crate.

King Kaka Education

King Kaka went to St. John Primary School, located in Nairobi, Kenya.

He later attended Eastleigh High School, located in Nairobi, Kenya.

He later joined the Kenya College of Accountancy University (KCA University), where he studied accounting.

In June 2016, King Kaka began his journey and became a lecturer at Zetech University, located in Ruiru, Kenya.

The album featured the exceptional talents of Njerae, Domani Munga, Sewersydaa, Watendawili, and Kanambo Quincher, each contributing their unique artistry to create a truly unforgettable experience.

King Kaka’s extensive discography comprises a diverse range of singles, collaborations, and guest appearances. 

He has worked with artists such as Khaligraph Jones, Jovial, Mejja, Lil Maina, Otile Brown, Rich Mavoko, Ndovu Kuu, Boutross, Pascal Tokodi, Solomon Mkubwa, and Kristoff, among many others.

King Kaka has participated in various projects, fulfilling roles as an actor, writer, or director.

The Projects include:

Majuto (2020)

The mini-series was King Kaka’s debut in writing and scriptwriting.

The story follows a young man named Young Amo whose poor life decisions lead him down a dark path, forcing him to confront the results of his actions and seek redemption. 

Through this, the series highlights real Kenyan social issues such as crime, peer pressure, and moral conflict, showing how a moment’s decision can change an entire life.

It’s both entertaining and cautionary, blending emotion, realism, and a message about responsibility, very much in King Kaka’s usual storytelling style.

His fellow cast includes Maxwell Simba (Young Amo), Keith Chuaga (Adiu), Jack Mutinda (Commander), Michael Odera (Aid), and Lucy Njoroge (Extra) among others.

Diana (2021)

Diana is a nine-part music series produced by King Kaka, released first exclusively on the digital platform BAZE (by Safaricom), then on his YouTube channel.

The series centres on a character named Diana (played by Michelle Ntalami) who is a “typical Nairobi girl” enjoying life, meeting a guy (King Kaka himself) at a party, and falling in love. Meanwhile, she’s already in a relationship with his friend Alvin (played by Robert Agengo). 

Kamtupe (2022)

Kamtupe is a crime thriller film written and directed by King Kaka.

It was produced by Kaka Empire Films in conjunction with Ambition Media House.

It’s about a government official who ventures into a rough Nairobi neighbourhood (Eastlando) to relocate a relative. He is robbed of his laptop, but the laptop holds highly sensitive state information that, if exposed, could lead to a nationwide or even civil crisis.

King Kaka was cast alongside other notable figures, including Jimmi Gathu (as Samuel), Brenda Jons (as Melissa), Joyce Maina (as Moraa), media personality Jeff Koinange (voice-over), musician Femi One (as Waitress), and YouTuber Stanley Obienji (as Kalele), among others.

Monkey Business (2024)

Monkey Business is a Kenyan TV crime drama Series written, produced and directed by King Kaka.

The narrative centers on a group of friends from Nairobi’s Eastlando ghetto, entangled in a web of poverty, ambition, and betrayal. They navigate a world where petty crime, hustling, and breaking the law become a means of survival. As they pursue success, their decisions draw them into the perilous realms of crime, corruption, and moral conflict.

It features casts such as Scar Mkadinali, Silva Kido, Azeezah Hashim, Daniel Lee Hird, Ivannoh Festo among others.

King Kaka wasn’t a cast.

My Name is Omosh (2025)

My Name is Omosh is a film written by Kennedy Odhiambo alias Crazy Kennar and directed by King Kaka.

The film centers on Omosh, an aspiring creative navigating the challenges of job hunting, romantic relationships, and daily life. 

A memorable scene depicts his job interview where, in a misguided effort to impress, he accidentally slaps an interviewer, jeopardizing his opportunity.

Casts in the film include of Stephen Otieno Adera (as Stivo Simple Boy), Crazy Kennar (as Omos), Austin Muigai (as Sospeter), Sammyro, Nixsha Shaw and Shigwan Shiqo among others.

King Kaka Relationships

Chemutai Sage

King Kaka was in a relationship with fellow musician Chemutai Sage.

They later broke up.

Nana Owiti

King Kaka was later in a relationship with TV Host, Journalist and Influencer, Nini Nana Owiti.

They were in a long-term relationship of over 13 years, which ended in 2024.

They released a joint statement on December 17^th, 2024, announcing the end of their 13-year relationship, since 2011.

They stated their ongoing commitment to co-parenting their children.

King Kaka had previously cheated on Nana before they were even engaged.

King Kaka Marriage

King Kaka proposed to Nana Owiti in 2018, during the launch of his album, Eastlando Royalty, at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi, Kenya.

On 19^th April 2022, during King Kaka’s unveiling as itel’s Official brand Ambassador, he revealed that they had a low-key private wedding ceremony.

King Kaka Children

King Kaka is a father to three children.

1. Ayanna Ombima

King Kaka has a child together with musician Chemuitai Sage, who’s called Gweth Ombima.

She was born on 26^th March 2014.

King Kaka got Ayanna while still in a relationship with Nana Owiti.

2. Gweth Ombima

Gweth Ombima is the second daughter of King Kaka. 

She is also the first child born to Nana Owiti and King Kaka together.

Gweth was born on 16^th April 2014 and is currently 16 years old.

3. Iroma Ombima

Iroma Ombina is an 8-year-old son born to King Kaka and Nana Owiti.

He was born on 23^rd September 2017.

Kaka Empire Foundation

King Kaka is also the founder and C.E.O. of Kaka Empire Foundation through his record label, Kaka Empire.

He established a foundation through which he organized various initiatives, including the King Kaka’s Sanitary Bank Menstrual Walk.

The purpose of the walk was to raise money for sanitary towels for school girls and raise awareness, thus keeping girls in school.

King Kaka owns a clothing line called ‘Kaka Klothing 254 Collection’.
